Neke Nsor successfully defended her dissertation on April 9th, 2025! She is officially Dr. Nsor!!! We cannot wait to see all she accomplishes.
Anna Toledo officially committed on April 1st, 2025 to the Max Planck Institute in Berlin, Germany to pursue her graduate studies in psychology. Congratulations, Anna!
The Center for Research and Fellowships awarded research assistant Bekah Kim with a Royden B. Davis Summer Fellowship on March 28th, 2025 to investigate emotion experience and regulation in couples, where one partner has a neurodegenerative disease. Way to go Bekah!
Annika Allen and Matthew Kiely had an outstanding showing at the 2025 Society for Affective Science conference in Portland, Oregon, held the weekend of March 21st, with Annika winning Best Thematic Flash Talk and Matt being runner-up for Best Poster, New Idea!
Neke Nsor won an Editor's Choice Award for her manuscript, The Effects of APOE Alleles, Cognitive Activities, and Social Activities on Cognitive Decline in African Americans, on March 20th, 2025!! The manuscript appeared in January 2025's issue of The Journals of Gerontology.
Research Assistant Colin Cox won a Center for Research Fellowship's Summer Mentored Research Fellowship on March 10th, 2025 to study how measures of social well-being predict the trajectory of positive affect in dementia caregivers. Congratulations, Colin!
Matthew Kiely was awarded a T32 training grant from the NIH on February 12th, 2025. Excited to see all that comes from it!

The lab welcomes our first Post-baccalaureate Research Fellow, Anna Toledo! Anna's work is funded by a research supplement from the National Institute on Aging to study emotion regulation and cognitive functioning in dementia caregivers. Congratulations, Anna!
Neke Nsor has been awarded a research supplement from the National Institute on Aging for her research on emotional and neuropsychiatric symptoms in dementia! This award will support her doctoral research and training for 2 years. Great accomplishment!
